There is only third qualifiers over but the results are clear already now - Team XRAY's Steven Weiss set the TQ and will start the finals from the first position.

Steven's car and the exclusive pit board

It is a bit strange but with the new rule that two best times sum together and with only two sets of new tires there were actually only two chances for every driver to make their best result and it was Friday evening and Satruday morning when the track conditions are the best. So actually the results are known already now.

In the last qualifier heat it was Jilles Groskamp who showcased excellent racing skills his racing that allowed him to stay in the lead half of the round. However it was Steven Weiss who was just unbeatable and very soon closed gap to leading Jilles and second Volker and few laps to go Steven pulled away and won that round by almost 3 seconds, an excellent showcase and a well deserved TQ.

There are still another 2 qualifiers round on schedule but due the hot track and no new tires for most of the drivers the current results could be considered almost as final and if there will be any changes then only in the lower positions.

Official qualifying results of the European Championship 2007
As expected therer were no major changes in the positions as the track got really super hot and with the already used tires there was no a real chance to make a better lap times. The only significant change was Andreas Myrberg who saved one set of tires from yesterday and as such could run even in hot conditions a very good result that bumped him to the B final into the top 20. That means another XRAY car in the top 20, making it 10 out of the 20. The 50% of the starting grid in the A and B final is an excellent result for the Team XRAY and we are looking forward a thrilling and exciting finals tomorrow.
