The fourth and final Swiss Championship v-TRACK 200mm race took place on September 1/2 in the Western part of Switzerland in a beautiful town called Aigle.
The track opened for free practice on Saturday morning, and the weather forecast promised beautiful and pleasant racing weather for the whole weekend. Fortunately it was right on the money with 20°C temperatures and very pleasant sunshine.

At first I tried the EC Spain set-up, and apart from a few small adjustments it worked quite well. On Sunday, free practice was held between 8:00–10:00AM, followed by three qualifications runs up until lunch time. Unfortunately I had a minor technical problem and was not able to attend the third run, so during lunch time I had more than enough time to make my car competitive again. Because of the missing third run, I was the last one after the qualification.

Two XRAY NT1 cars placed in the top 4: Traugott Schaer in 2nd place and Claudio Pasquin in 4th place (Alexandre Amort was in 1st and Loris Pieroz was in 3rd). After qualifications, five XRAY NT1 cars were in the Top 10.

It was for me a somewhat stressful time. I had to start in the quarter-final, then go into the semi-final, and at the end be able to attack in the big final.

I unfortunately do not have much to write about the whole race afternoon because I was quite busy running my finals. For the big final, the following others qualified from the two semi-finals: Beat Waelti, Reto Felix, Charly Cancer, Didier Baltensberger, Giovanni Bonetti, and Giacomo Moretti.

The start went not as I had hoped, and I ended up at the very back of the field. From that moment on, I had to keep pushing at maximum during the whole 30min race. With the whole noontime to get a lot of practice (not to mention my NT1 was running fantastically), I finally could lead the field after my last pit stop and as such realized my dream of claiming the title of Swiss Champion!
