The 2007 1/18th scale East Coast Championships were held at Rc Excitement in Fitchburg Massachusetts on September 14-16th. Racers attending came from as far south as Texas, and as far north as Canada. Xray factory Team driver Zack Barry attended the race again this year after winning the A main in the Formunla truck class last year. (Where trucks run on an on road course).

Zack, having never raced a sedan before, decided to try his hand at the micro touring car class this year. Having just built 2- M18 pro kits the week before the race, Zack and his dad arrived at the track on Friday knowing that they had a lot to learn in a short period of time in order to prepare for the qualifiers on Saturday. After a lot of set up tips from fellow racers, and dozens of practice runs, Zack felt fairly confident going into the qualifiers on Saturday. After 3 rounds of qualifying, Zack had finished with the TQ in Formula 18 truck (by 2 laps), 3rd in pro brushless micro sedan , and 5th in pro mod micro sedan. On Sunday the mains were run. In the Formula18 class Zack had and amazing 28 lap run, winning by a full 2 laps. Next, Zack ran his Tekin powered M18 pro in the pro brushless A main. Again taking down the first place win. Finnally in the pro mod class, Zack had a tough run, finishing in sixth place in the A main.

All in all it was a very good weekend, with Zack and Xray once again proving their quality.

In the ProMod Onroad A-Main (brushed 6Cell), Mike Gee took the honors with a near flawless run in which he qualified second on the starting grid. Early on he battled for a few of the opening laps with Robert
Rocha(3) swapping positions a few times. He and Rocha were able to capitalize on the ninth lap seeing Gee take the lead while Rocha grabbed second. The first two position would remain as such. Third position was taken by Pierre Valiquette from Canada.
