The warmup race for the Leipzig Fair was held on Friday, and it was a good training because the track was very hard to drive on, requiring tire preparation with WD40 before the heats. Most drivers arriving on Saturday didn´t know that, and therefore had bad results in their first heats. The race on Friday was dominated and won by Mikael Palsson. After the qualifying heats it was again Mikael Palsson who headed the field. Oliver Simon (XRAY) had to start from the 1/4 final, but since he knew the tire prep trick he dominated. Oliver Simon went so fast that he overtook Palsson in the 1/2 final, and he had a very good battle at the front with Tim Bremicker. However, due to a mistake by Oliver, Bremicker took pole position in the final ahead of Simon and Eirenschmalz. German champion Phillip Guschl didn´t even reach the final. At the beginning of the final, Oliver Simon overtook Bremicker, but after an engine stoppage Bremicker retook the lead. Oliver and XRAY driver Markus Eirenschmalz (in 2nd and 3rd positions) provided the show of the weekend when they drove one fastest lap after the other with only 0.1sec between them. They both made mistakes and finally it was Bremicker who won ahead of Simon (XRAY), Eirenschmalz (XRAY), Koch and Palsson.
