After a run of good races on carpet over the past few weeks with second at both Rug Racers and Carpet Wars behind Olly Jefferies it was back to racing on the lower traction Don Valley rubber floor surface. Amazingly I was able to leave the setup unchanged now from asphalt to carpet to rubber floor which proves how good the 008 base is already. The meeting had a full entry of 120 drivers between modified, 19 turn and stock.

Qualifying was good overall after a poor first round. A few mistakes cost me any chance of a good time and put me in third overall. Round 2 was a better run and I managed to take pole position by less than a tenth from new XRAY driver Sam Smith. Round 3 saw no improvements in time from the top 3 even though we were all on to better our times until incidents happened.

The finals are held over 2 races with the fastest final time taking the overall win on the day. Both finals were really good with a very close battle with Elliott for the whole race. We ended up finishing less than a second apart in both legs. We also managed to lap most of the drivers cleanly which added to the fans excitement.

This means that the 008 is unbeaten at Don Valley still in prototype stage, the production kits have many more updates than the prototype I have been running so I am very excited about the next round. Thanks again XRAY for your products and support
