| R/C Madness Micro On-Road Nationals |
|
| The first ever 1/18th Scale On-road Nationals â“ sponsored by Team XRAY and RC America â“ were held Nov. 30th â“ Dec. 2nd at RC Madness in Enfield, CT (USA). There were numerous classes in several categories, including Micro Sedan, Pancar, Recoil (1/14th), Rally, and Open Truck. XRAY did extremely well in the sedan category (in stock , mod, and brushless classes) and also won the Open Truck class. |

| The turnout was very good for this new event, with racers attending from all over USA and Canada. Team XRAY drivers attended this event armed with a new prototype version of the M18T Pro, running in the Open Truck class. Having only just received the new truck the day before the race, Zack Barry was not sure what to expect of it, or even if he would have enough practice time to be ready to run it in the qualifiers. However, after his first run in practice run, Zack came off the driver's stand telling his father (and pit man) "This is the most amazing, smoothest truck I have ever driven!âť |

That being said, Zack ran 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday with the M18T Pro, battling tough traffic all the way, and ended up qualifying 2nd overall... but he still had the fastest laps of anyone there.
The Mains were run on Sunday. Zack started in 2nd position but quickly got by the leader in the first turn. Zack had a bobble shortly after that, allowing 3rd place driver Tony Phalen to get by. Now running in 2nd place, Zack followed Tony for several laps, slowly closing the gap. Tony's truck âśthermalled outâť allowing Zack to take back 1st place, where he went on to finish the race.
