Maritime Racing hosted another well attended event at the Black Lion Centre in Gillingham, Kent for Round 4 of Carpet Wars. The format was 4 qualifiers and one final and the T2 008 was well represented by Team XRay GB - Ben Cosgrove, Elliott Harper, Kevin Brunsden, Sam Smith, Brian Eldridge and Ben Ingram.
Elliott Harper was FTD after the initial qualifier, slipping back to 4th in the second and up to 3rd again after the third qualifier. Following a few adjustments to his set up, his XRay T2 008 powered by Nosram performed extremely well and he secured FTD overall, taking pole position in the A final. From the start Elliott took a commanding position. He was quick off the line and pulled out a comfortable lead, finishing the race only a fraction of a second behind his earlier TQ pace. |

Also featuring in the A final were, Kevin Brunsden, better known for his off road racing secured took 6th place and was really pleased with the handling of his XRay. Other XRay drivers in the A included Ben Ingram who drove really well securing 3rd on the day and Sam Smith finishing 9th.
Ben Cosgrove had some very bad luck and was chasing set up all day, eventually finding the right solution on the 4th qualifier a racing incident part way through stopped him improving and he took pole in the B Final. Having spent the day establishing the set up, Ben put this to good use in the Modified B final and seemed to find the reserves he had missed earlier in the day, by stamping his authority on the race. Leading from the front and never really coming under pressure secured a clean win. Another XRAY driver in the B was Brian Eldridge who finished 3rd.
