Race Report by Alexander Hagberg
The annual Friendship Race which takes place in Eskilstuna, Sweden is known to be the biggest and most competitive TC race in the country.

This years edition saw a rather low turnout compared to earlier years but a few of the Swedish top racers were there fighting for the prestigious title. Among these were myself, local fast guy and Swedish 1:10 GP champion, Magnus Vässmar, SSIC Champion Niclas Nilsson, worlds semi-finalist Roland Ström among others. The track this year was quite technical with some really narrow corners but still had a few high speed sweepers, demanding a lot from the car and the driver.

It was myself who dominated the race throughout qualifying, taking maximum points to secure the overall TQ position. In second was Magnus in front of Niclas and Tommy Bergfeldt on the 4th spot. My car was quite good already in the open practice and I did not have to make any big changes to my setup at all. In fact the only change I made was additive, so chassis setup stayed the same. So the basic setup proved again to be working really well. My car stayed consistent as the track conditions changed and was always easy to drive and carried good corner speed.

The finals never really got exciting since I made no mistakes and could pull away to take the win in the first two finals. In the third a-main I was challenged by Magnus for the opening laps but this came to an end rather quickly as Magnus made a mistake coming through the very narrow chicane. In the end it was Magnus who finished 2nd and Niclas on 3rd overall. Roland Ström made his debut race with an XRAY car and finished on a respectable 4th overall. In the modified category XRAY took an impressive clean sweep with myself winning all qualifiers and finals, and with Magnus and Niclas rounding out the podium. XRAY had 7 out of 10 cars in the A-final.
