On Saturday 21st March 23, 2009 an invitational race for the truggy class was held at the M.M.O.R.C. Kordin track Malta.
The weather was good, until some small rain showers disrupted the race for some time but we were luckily able to complete the race program for the event.
This race attracted the best drivers on the Island, bringing out some fierce competition amongst the drivers and some very interesting races.
Five drivers with their XRAY XT8 made it to the final. XRAY team driver Jonathan Tonna with his XT8 finished on the top of the podium supported by a GRP Engine 21 Sports, Roga fuel Gold, Pro-line tires, Ultimate Products and Savox Servos. Jonathan showed some great driving skills from start to finish and there was no doubt that he will finish on the podium, but an excellent performance from the XRAY XT8 gave Jonathan Tonna the top spot on the podium, in the second position finished Frank Azzopardi who also showed great driving skills, putting in a clean smooth run. Twanny Borg finished in the third place, also running strong .
With such a closely matched skill level amongst the drivers it was the XT8 which made all the difference.
