The year-end race for the Indonesian EP series was held at the Sunter International Speedway and was attended by 50 drivers. Three classes were run: Stock 11.5 BL, Modified Class, and Formula-1. During the 2-day event, on Saturday we had four qualifying sessions and on Sunday we had the last qualifying round and three finals. The race had variable weather – sunny, cloudy and rain – so all drivers had to change their setups over and over again.
In Stock class, Jilles Groskamp took pole position. Young XRAY driver Bowie Ginting was in 2nd and long time racer Rudy Hardjo was in 3rd. In Modified class, Jilles Groskamp also took TQ followed by XRAY driver Danny Iswahyudi in 2nd. Kris Heriyana was in 3rd place followed by XRAY drivers Bowie Ginting and Suwardi Suliandy.
In the Stock final, Jilles Groskamp got a very nice run and he scored 20 points. With the “two best finals” system, Jilles won the race followed by Asdi and Bowie Ginting. The same story goes for the Modified class where Jilles also had a very fast run and got the win followed by Suwardi Suliandy (who had a brief entertaining duel with Jilles in the last final). Kris Heriyana came in 3rd place. Other XRAY drivers had motor and mechanical problems, so it was not in the cards for XRAY to *completely* dominate the event.
