The 1/12 EC was held in Hinckley, outside of Birmingham, in the United Kingdom. The meeting saw a total of 100 entrants divided into spec and modified classes.
Alexander Hagberg: "It was myself and Freddy SĂĽdhoff from Team XRAY who had entered for modified. After some pre-event testing back home, we were feeling confident for this important race, and the first real test of the brand new XII Link.
In the finals, my car was at its best, and I could fight for positions with some success. In the end I would finish 7th overall. The first 2 runners were far ahead of everyone else, where the rest were on a more similar pace to each other. Freddy finished on 12th position overall after some good finals.
The European Championships in Hinckley was a great event with some intense racing action."

Charlie Ware: "We arrived at Hinckley, England on Thursday 4th March to be welcomed by a fantastic setup of pit space, rostrum, display screens and organisation. My form up to these championships had been getting more consistent which I have wanted for a long time. In practice I had a good first run but the rest left me with duration problems in every run. My electronics sponsor gave me some new cells and that soon cured the problem. At the halfway point I was 10th and in the A and this was much more than I expected but now I wanted an A slot. The high driving standards combined with experience of the other drivers pushed me down into B7 at the end of qualifying.
In the Finals I was up against some seasoned drivers and young Moritz Hilbert, who is only 12 years old but last yearâ™s European Junior Champion, Sam Clifton is also in line for top European Junior and was driving well. In leg 1 I got caught in the first corner pile up and struggled to catch up and ended 8th. In leg 2 I learnt my lesson and drove cautiously round for the first 2 or 3 laps slowing picking up places and finished 2nd. All to play for in the final leg with the tie really between myself and Moritz but Sam could still win if he won the leg. I got off to a great start and was in 3rd place by the end of lap 1 and drove really well, despite shaking like a leaf, beating my qualifying time in the process and finished 3rd in the final leg and 2nd overall in the B with the overall result me giving me the title of European Junior 12th Scale Spec Stock Champion."
