At the inaugurated off-road track in Rinella, the weather was partly cloudy with occasional gusts of wind which made the jumps quite tricky to negotiate. The traction of the track was
excellent.

Sixteen drivers registered for this event, with Team XRAY represented by no less than five drivers. The race format consisted of 5-minute free practice, followed by 3 heats of 7 minutes each, with the best 8 drivers making it into the 30-minute final.

In the heats, five cars managed to do 11 laps, with Kyle Spiteri (driving his Picco Boost powered XRAY 808) doing 11 laps in all his three heats and in a time of 7m 1s, and thus claiming pole position for the final. Another three XRAY drivers made it to the final.

In the final proper, Kyle’s XRAY set the pace right from the start. He only relinquished the lead for 1 lap during his first pit stop. From that point on he held the lead until the end and managed 45 laps, 1 more than 2nd place and six more laps than 3rd place.

The other XRAY cars in the final, especially those driven by Lawrence Mangion and Noel Galea, battled for 3rd place but had to settle for 6th and 7th after encountering some technical problems.
