XB9 Wins 2012 M.M.O.R.R.C. Buggy Championship R1, Malta

Sunday, February 26, was the start of this yearâ™s M.M.O.R.R.C. Buggy Championship at the Rinella off-road track in Malta with the first two rounds. A good mix of seasoned and new drivers signed up for this yearâ™s championship.

The star of this meeting was without a doubt the much-awaited XRAY XB9 buggy which had just arrived in kit form three days before. Even though there was little time to experiment with the basic set-ups, the buggy immediately showed its potential during testing and heats, and came out best during the races. In fact, XRAY driver Kyle Spiteri took his XRAY XB9 to win both rounds, take TQ in Round 2, and also lap all the other drivers in the two rounds.
Winning both rounds meant that Kyle was easily declared the overall winner of the dayâ™s races. Noel Micallef took 2nd place while Charles Vassallo (Hot Bodies) placed 3rd.
Congratulations go to XRAY and Kyle and all the rest of the drivers for a great day of buggy racing. We look forward to the enthusiasm in the next rounds.
