On July 27th 2012 Team Techlab travelled to Sicily for a Night event at Mad-Race off road track which is 10 minutes out from Santa Croce Camerina, Province of Ragusa.
The track had good grip and high speed sections. Lawrence Mangion with his XRAY XB9 managed to finish second place. He had some flame outs at the start of the race and dropped down to the last position but he fought all the way through and ended up second in F1 race.

Lawrence was in the lead of trugy race from the start to the last lap with two laps ahaed of the rest of drivers. The XT8 was phenomenal and the track had a lot of grip, in the last 15 minutes he had some trouble with the servo, but still was able to manage his 2 lap lead. Unfortunately, 30 meters to the finish line his car stopped with technical problems causing him to lose the win.
Another XRAY driver Dillon Cassar took part in the same race with his Xray XB9 in F2 category. He won the race despite of having problems in all heats thanks to the help of Christ Agius from Techlab Malta. Dillon took part in the truggy race too and placed 3rd. Both Maltese drivers Lawrence Mangion and Dillon Cassar ended up with double podium finishes thanks to performance of the cars.
