Race report by Alexander Hagberg
The Nordic Championships in 1/12 Modified and 1/10 Touring Car Modified was held at the permanent indoor track of Swedish XRAY distributor Minicars, in Enköping, Sweden. Racers arrived on Friday morning to practice on the new, much faster, track layout. The groove soon started to build up. Around 50 entries from 4 countries had joined the race.

In qualifying I had a flawless performance, winning all rounds in both 1/10 and 1/12 categories. My cars were working very well, which was also a result of many testing days at this track. Viljami Kutvonen from Finland was a challenger in TC, with Niklas Johansson on 3rd place, also matching Viljami's pace.

The finals in 1/12 were rather dramatic, as the pace from myself and a couple other front runners were so much faster than from those at the bottom of the main - which led to many risky overtakings. In A1 I had some incidents - the carpet had been ripped open on the straight, and I was unlucky to hit that very spot, sending my car into the wall, which ended my final. However, I managed to win both A2 and A3 by a couple of laps, to be able to secure the overall win. My X12'14 was handling perfectly the entire weekend. It was so easy to drive, I could push the car with full confidence to win all qualifiers, as well as A2 and A3 with very big margins. Mickael Brandt also made the final with his X12'14 car.

In touring car, I made full use of my TQ position, to pull away and win both A1 and A2 with ease, controlling the pace all throughout. My T4'14 was very fast, yet easy to drive. I could put down quick times already from the first laps, to build a gap. XRAY had a strong line up of drivers in the main final. XRAY has a strong following in Sweden all in all. We have a lot of fun together, as we push each other towards new limits.

The touring car stock class was won by long time XRAY driver Thomas Ek. Thomas won all finals from his TQ position. Congratulations!

I want to thank Minicars, the organizing club of MHF-U Skarpnäck, and my father for the very well organized event! Until next time.
