Race report by Peter Harder
This weekend we had the first round of the Danish Nationals – with also Swedish drivers attending! It was in a big indoor horse arena and the track times were around 30 sec on a slippery track with some tight corners but also some tricky jumps. Very cool layout and great job by the organizers.

Outside temperatures were raising from morning 5 to afternoon 17 degrees! This required ongoing engine, tire and setup adjustments.

Qualifying saw Oliver Fisher being very dominant, and he got TQ. Oliver easily won semi A and from pole in semi B my XB8 led from start to finish including one issue with running out of fuel before the last stop. Luckily the car just rolled over the line and got the lap counted, so only around 15 sec lost.

The XB8 performed great and with only around 5 tanks practice some weeks before the car quickly showed why it is already winning so many races. It was super stable, good cornering speed and great landing after jumps.

During qualifying I started playing with the setup and slowly the car became better and better.

For the final I could on lap 2 take the lead and held on to it for long period. Around midway I got close to lap Oliver in second, but then the car became difficult and I lost the rhythm. Oliver gained speed and found his rhythm and with about 5 minutes left we started battling. I got a small lead but then with 2.5 minutes left my tire starting coming of (bad gluing). This might be the reason why the car became more and more difficult to race, but I kept the car on the wheels and won with a small margin of only 0.8 sec.

Out of the 10 cars in the final, 4 was XRAY and being the most dominant brand.

Also all FX engines were running very good, and this was my first race with the new Savöx brushless aluminum servos – and no issues but just lot of torque and stability!
