Race report by Robin Frischkopf
The 4th Swiss Championship took place in Gland at beautiful lake geneva. There were about 130 drivers present. The track is the biggest and in my opinion the best on the whole calendar and the club prepared it very well. The weather was great all week-end. Saturday's qualifying runs were great with me TQing the first round and in the end being second overall behind Swiss Champion and top 25 Euro driver Jeremy Pittet. I was very pleased with the car and only did minor setup changes and tried some different tyres.

On Sunday after all the lower finals the track was very blown-out at some parts and very dusty off the line and that made it a bit more difficult. The car was still good but it was now harder to drive consistently. The semifinal went well without problems and I started the 45 minute final from second position. Yael Zurfluh who started on pole led the race while Joachim Kallen, Jeremy Pittet and I started to fight for second place. This lasted almost the whole final, with Jeremy dropping out very early because of a problem and then Joachim and I fought for second place for about half an hour.

We traded positions about 10 times and it was very exciting because we were also on different fuel strategies and the leader Yael was just a few corners ahead. I was more or less safe on second near the end of the final and could see the leader ahead but then some lapped cars did not let me pass and this cost me a lot of concentration and I made a series of mistakes and dropped down to third again ten seconds behind the leaders with not enough time left to make it up. Then in the last lap I also ran out of fuel, but it didn't matter for my result. I was very happy to be on the podium again after a long and exciting race with many failures and where the victory was up for grabs until the very last lap, with Yael who drove not the fastest but an amazingly consistent final finishing 3 seconds ahead of Joachim.
The swiss championship is very close and everything is possible with three rounds to go on tracks that I like very much.
