Race report by Mattia Pesenti
The last weekend was held the 5th round of Swiss Nationals in Langenthal, Kurzbuch’s home track. The weather forecast wasn’t so good but at the end we had a hot and sunny weekend.

Unfortunately I couldn’t practice on Friday because of work and we tried to do our best during the qualifying rounds. In the last round the car was really good and but unfortunately I lost a second because another driver pushed me.

In the 1/10th the battle was between Schär and Rizzo, but at the end Traugott Schär did the TQ. Good qualifiying round for Michael Schäfer too.

Finals Day – 1/10th
In the 1/10th Schär and Schäfer could reach the final quite easily. The problem in the final was the tires consumption. Schär started the final being not so fast in order to spare a little bit. Schäfer had some problem but he was pushing hard but at 5mins to the end he had to stop and he finished in 9th position.

Schär was driving really good and at 10min to the end he was behind Rizzo Marco that he was finishing his tires. After 24mins Rizzo had no more tires and he had to stop so Schär pass in 1st position in front of Schlehan that he was pushing hard but Traugott could win the final and becomes Swiss Champion 2014.

Finals Day – 1/8th

I could reach the final without problem but the track conditions weren’t as good for my set-up as they were on Saturday. I started the final on 5th position and I fight for the 3rd position during the whole final. In the last 10mins Hächler had problems so I passed on 2nd position but Stalder was pushing really hard. The last 3 laps were amazing, Stalder tried to pass me but it didn’t work. In the last lap he was behind me but when he tried to pass me we had a little crash and I could finish the final in 2nd position.

Final result Top3:
1. Kurzbuch Simon
2. Pesenti Mattia - XRAY RX8
3. Stalder Roland

The next month there will be the last round in Aigle. The fight for the first place in the Swiss Championship is really close.

At the moment the standing is:

1. Hächler Silvio – 613pts
2. Pesenti Mattia – 606pts (XRAY RX8)
3. Stalder Roland – 529pts
3. Pethoud Christophe -529pts
