Race report by Kennie Ekenstierna
The Swedish Nationals is a 3 day race that starts on Friday. Unfortunately Kennie had to work and couldn`t take part in the practice and reseeding which meant that we had to start in first heat with the not so fast drivers. With only one practice heat to try a brand new setup we were a little worried.

Saturday started with rain! Alot of rain. So we decided not to drive the practice and went straight in to the first qualifying. Started with seven laps and a fair time it would be interesting to see how far this would take us. After all the heat in round one we were 7th and Henrik Nilsson 3rd .Good result without practice.

A good day all together for the XRAY after the qualification rounds Henrik was 4th and Kennie was 6th, Niklas Hĺkansson(the great team manager who has been driving XRAY since day 1)16th,our young star 10years old Hampus Berg 21st.

Semipractice went really good. So far we haven’t changed anything on the cars setup since we started except tires! Big thanks to Matte Angseryd and my dad for their brainstorm on the way home from Germany.

Starting semi B as number 3, it seems like they collect the most of the really good driver in this final so this wasn’t going to be easy! Got a good start and made only a few mistakes during the semi despite that it started rain in the last 5 min and came in second after Christoffer Svensson. Henrik came in as 4th and Niklas ended up 9th, not to to bad for our oldtimer.

One hour final was going to be tough one this really big track with a lot of jumps, doubles and triples and large oopsie section. I had the 3rd fastest time in the total after the semis but since it rained in ours the rules says that you cross the drivers from each semi which gave us starting number 4. But came off to a really good start. I was top4 and battled with Johan Balsberg, then I managed to get a little gap between us. With David Ronnefalk first, Christoffer Svensson second, me third, Johan 4th, Henrik 5th, this was the standing until David had some problems with his car and was of the track for a while before they fixed the problem. With a bit up to Christoffer and a bit down to Johan the remaining time was mostly about making as little mistakes as possible and keeping the pace as good as possible. The setup worked really well on this track and made the car really easy to drive.

The battle was behind me instead for 3rd place between Johan and Henrik most of the race. Henrik made one mistake more than Johan and came in 4th in total. I managed to keep me second place all the way in to finish despite a few minutes of rain at the end which made the track really slippery, this is my best race this year and the car worked really great. All together a great weekend.

Now let us not forget our Swedish junior champion Hampus Berg who won the junior final with his XB8 and also for Malin who finished on 3nd place.

Special thanks to Minicars Sweden for making this possible!
