The last round of the nationals was held in Bramming in a nice big indoor horse hall. The hall was after a few hours turned into nice and big buggy indoor track to race RC cars on. The track was technical because there was very low grip. All the hard jumps you had to turn directly after you landed from the jumps, and there was no big grip level it was very hard to be consistent. I Think the track was very nice, with a good flow and some technical jumps, it was testing the drivers!

The track was open friday, and there was practice from 18.00 o’clock, but i had to work, I arrived on the track at the raceday saturday. I had to get up really early, the track was 2,5 hours drive from home. Saturday was it 1:8 buggy electrick on the plan, and after the first practice i felt my car was good, but i still needed to find some steering and grip!

My car was good after some small setup tweaks and we only have 1 practice round before qualy, so i was needed to make setup in the qualys. After the qualys and i found a good setup I was setting 3rd to the mains, I had set the fastest lap time in the qualys and we were 5 drivers who was competing for the victory, all top 5 drivers was only 1-5 seconds apart after the qualys!

All 3 finals had different winners, Magnus Frandsen won the first main in the time of: 19 laps in 10:18.288 minutes, i won the second main in the time of: 19laps 10:20.835 and Rune won the last main in the time: 19 laps 10:19.781. The race was so cool and we all had good battles, both Magnus and Rune have both an 1-2 place in the finals, i had 1-3 in the finals.

Rasmus Petersen who also runs the XRAY XB8E had some bad qualys but could win the B-main! Good driving in the finals for Rasmus!!

After the Electric race was over in the afternoon, there was practice for the nitro cars.
I practice in 10 minutes and I think my car was working very fine, only need to look after my brakes on the car as I did not like how it was braking, i fixed that and i was ready for the race!

Sunday danish nationals 1:8 nitro offroad:
The XRAY drivers with XB8 were:

Mike Gosvig
Bjarne Petersson
Rasmus Petersen
Kim Petersen
Tom Nielsen

Again 1 practice round followed by 4 qualys – my practice went pretty good could set the fastest lap of the practice round 30.529. First qualy was fine for me a made a very safe round without many risky moves on the long jumps and finish only 1 second behind Magnus Frandsen, Henning Warner made a good clean run to finish only 1 second behind me.

Second qualy i made a tire change to new tires, and my car was very easy to drive! I won this round with 2 second to Magnus and Pelle Culmsee 3 second behind Magnus. Third qualy i race on the same tires as before but i was trying to take all jumps and just maxium pressure! I made the fastest qualy and won this round with 11 second to Jan. D Hansen in 2nd, Magnus in 3rd and Pelle in 4th. I made new fastest lap there was 29.911 so car was good now!

Last qualy I try something on the setup and car was not better, but a little slower and not so clean driving for me as I made many mistakes, i still could hold on to win the round in front of Magnus and Henning Warner.

Now on to the semi finals.
My semi final was very good and I got a good start and I could begin to push the car on the new tires! I could win this final with 2 laps down to Pelle Culmsee, Tim Culmsee, Henning Warner and Sebastian Monica. I also made a new fastest lap in the semi with 29,784, car was getting better and better. Semi final time: 38 laps 20:22.201 minutes, thanks to Rene JepsĂ©n for being my mechanic! Bjarne Petersson just missed the final with 7 seconds. Other Semi won Magnus infront of: Jan D. Hansen, Rune Gustavsen, Steffen Culmsee and Christian Schat. Magnus semi final time was: 37 laps 20:10.748 – so i was starting on pole for the main final.

Final:
Me and Magnus took some meters on the rest of the field, Magnus was making some good pressure, and he pas me after the long jump because I jumped to long. But we had some really nice, fair and close racing!

Now it was me who was holding Magnus under pressure, and some laps after this I made my move, as I could see that Magnus was not taking the jumps on the straight. So I jumped just in front of Magnus. The lap after I made my fastest lap of the race with 29,471, and now the tires was really good and easy to drive, so I begin to pull a little gap between us. Some laps after, Magnus crashed and he just got out in the back of Jan D. Hansen, they had a good fight in some laps after Jan run out of fuel.

My car was so good on these tires I could just push the car on every lap, and making very consistent lap times, i was in front with 2-3 laps. After some troubles we got on the track again and was still in front of Magnus with 10 seconds. Then I started to push again to extend the lead, the motor was running excelent, and I won the final with 1 lap down to Magnus and Pelle Culmsee. Pelle and Magnus had a good fight on the last laps, but Pelle flame out on the last lap, so Magnus could take it easy to take the Second spot! Jan D. Hansen got a good 4th place after his flame out.
