The German Open Indoor masters 2015 were as usually held in Friedrichshafen as a part of fair âžFaszination Modellbauâś. There were 3 classes VG10 (37 drivers), VG8 (48 drivers) and Electric Motorcycles (28 drivers). The track was very well prepared thanks to the crew of MSC Greuthof!
The Team XRAY Germany was in attendance with Dennis Sting, Jannick Namyslo, Florian Müller, Heinz Wächs and XRAY Factory Team driver Marco Kaufmann in VG10 class and Thorsten Müller, Sven-Michael Lienhop, Olaf Engelmann, Christian Willert and Thomas Namyslo inVG8 class.

On Friday the practice was on schedule. Everybody had 4 races per 8 minutes. Honestly the first training was less training and more drifting for everyone because of nearly no traction. Second training was much better because everyone made a lot of set-up changes and cut the front tires. Marco Kaufmann was able to get used to clutch and two-speed because it was his first nitro race.
After last practice on Friday evening Marco was the best XRAY driver but Hartmut Rose who was helping him this weekend had still a lot to do. Dennis was satisfied too and I still had a lot to do on my car. I was not satisfied at all so far.
On saturday morning after Q1 Marco was sitting on top spot! He had a perfect run without any mistake and his car was also really good. On second was Traugott Schär also running XRAY NT1, 1,1 sec behind Marco. Tom was in 3rd, Melvin 4th. Dennis 6th, Andreas 7th, Thilo 8th. I was only sitting on 22nd place with a lot of problems with my car. In VG8 Thorsten was sitting on 8th, Olaf was 9th, Christian 21st, Sven-Michael 27th and Thomas on 30th place. In the lead Dionys Stadler, Gerhard Kandelhard 2nd and Gerhard Kapferer 3rd.

Q4 last qualifying:
VG10: Melvin was still on 1. Tom on 2nd. Traugott on 3rd position, Marco on 5th and Thilo on 6th. I was able to make also a good run and ended up 7th. Dennis on P10, Heinz on 12 and Andreas on 15.
VG8: Tobias was 1st, Dionys 2nd and Gerhard still on 3rd place. Thorsten had to stop his run and now on P9. Olaf was able to improve to P13, Christian on 17th. Thomas was improving constantly but in the end still P38. Sven-Michael still P42.
After Qualifying we had 6 driver directly in the half final in VG10. In VG8 only Thorsten.

Finals on sunday:
1/16 B VG8: Thomas ended on 2nd
1/8 B VG10: Florian ended on 1st and was allowed to start in 1/4 B VG10.
1/8 B VG8: Thomas on 4th and bumbed up to ? B VG8
1/4 B VG10: Florian on 3rd. Heinz unfortunately on P6
1/4 A VG10: Andreas had bad luck. After a very good start in the lead he had engine trouble and ended on 8th position.
1/4 B VG8: After a perfect start from Thomas on P3 he unfortunately made a mistake which crashed his Reso and ended only on 6th.
1/4 A VG8: Olaf on 2nd. Chistian only on 6th.
1/2 B VG10: Thilo behind Tom on 1st. Dennis on 5th also in the final.
1/2 A VG10: Marco on 2nd behind Melvin on 1st. Jannick on P4 and Traugott on P5.
Final VG10:
Everybody was driving really fair. Marco was fighting a lot because Tom and Traugott made their stop after 6 min and had one stop less than Marco. Dennis had to stop his race with technical problems. It was a quite fair but also really close final.

In the VG10 final 4 out of 10 were using XRAY chassis, most used car in the final.
Final VG8:
Thorsten started with 90 sec. delay caused by technical problems, however he was able to make his way up nad finished 4th with his XRAY RX8.
