XRAY 4 x TQ and 3 x WIN at SARDA 2014 On-Road Electric Nationals, Round 5 South Africa
The fifth and final round of the 2014 South-African ORE national championship were held at Krugersdorp on the 2002 Worlds Track over weekend 15 and 16 November 2014.
The Saturday morning of the qualifiers a big rain storm hit the track in the morning which delayed the start of the qualification. One part of the track remained waterlogged and the layout had to be changed for the event to continue. As lots of drivers practised the original intended layout, the new layout caused some unhappiness, but it was the best option for the sport. Only two qualifying rounds were held on Saturday with the remaining two completed on Sunday morning followed by the mains.
Touring Modified
The touring modified class once again provided for some spectacular high-speed racing. Jason Hillcoat, who already wrapped up the 2014 championship, could not attend the event. It was Shaun Schutte qualified well and took the TQ. The three A mains provided for some great racing and it was Shaun Schutte, Anderton Smith, Deon Gove and Antonio Caroli racing for the honours with Schaun Schutte taking the win.
