Race report by Mike Gosvig:
The Danish DMSU Nationals round 2 was held in Copenhagen, in the city named Broendby. Broendby Racing club was the host of the round. The small technical track is very nice to drive on. Very sharp and some high speed corners gives a good flow in the cars, but it is very hard to overtake on this track. There is a nice pit, and very good kitchen so all drivers can get something to drink and eat for very good prices, and overall this club has very nice facility!

The classes were Prostock, Lemans (1:10 pan cars), Formula, and FFD class. Biggest class of the weekend were Prostock and Lemans. In Prostock there was 22 drivers, so we had finals down to the C-final. Lemans class was attended by 16 drivers, and in Formula 1 there was 13 drivers. Our XRAY team was ready for a good race day, we had a lot of drivers in the Le mans class with the new X10’15 edition showing really good speed and stability and then we had the T4’15 ready in the hands of many of our young drivers: Jack Holger Sorensen, Stefan Finnich, Patrick Danielsen and Jeppe Svendsen.

ProStock:
The Practice day before the race saw many fast drivers, and with the 13,5T spec speed passion combo the race was super fun. I found a good setup for my XRAY T4’15, the young guys and me worked together and they were also very fast and trying different things on their cars to improve, because the track kept changing. On the race day the the track was a bit slippery and there was almost no tire wear. On this track there is always very high tire wear, but this time the grip was very strange.

Qualifying:
In the first qualification my T4’15 was working very good and I could TQ the round with 6,3 second ahead number 2 of Patrick Folman. Our young driver Stefan Finnich had a good pace and only made some small mistakes and was only 2,2 tenths behind Patrick Folman to take the 3rd spot. Jack Holger Sorensen also made a good run and would make a 5th place in this round! Patrick Danielsen had some bad luck with a broken fan.

In second qualification I wrapped up the overall TQ by taking the first spot 6 second in front of Patrick Folman, Soren Boy Holst found some more speed to take the 3rd place in this round 1,3 second behind Folman. Patrick Danielsen made a strong 4th place in this round with Stefan Finnich only 6 tenths behind in the 5th spot! Jack made a mistake at the end of the straight and hit the wall, and had to retire for this round.

Third qualification I tried some shorter front drive shafts and the lap times were almost the same, it was only the feeling of the car that it was different and only a second slower than my other TQ times. I finished in the first spot 4 second ahead of Patrick Folman who made a good solid qualifying to take the 2 spot on the grid. Soren again took the 3rd place in this round 2,2 second behind Patrick. Patrick Danielsen again made very fast round finishing only a half a tenth behind Soren Boy Holst, and Stefan and Jack would end up 5 and 6 in this round.

Finals:
First Final: I made a good start from TQ and could pull a good gap down to number 2 Patrick, Soren was right behind Patrick after two minutes, but then Patrick could pull away from Soren. Behind Soren there was a battle between Stefan Finnich and Patrick Danielsen, who were just behind each other. Pelle Culmsee finish 6, and Jack and Gustav finish 7 and 8 in this main. I won this main with 4,4 seconds gap. Jeppe Svendsen made a good move in the B-main to take the first spot almost a lap down to number 2.

Second Final: I made a good start again from pole and could pull away from the rest of the field, in the end I have a gap of 4 second down to Patrick who was on 2 place the whole final and just drove his own race. Soren made an early mistake that cost him 4 seconds and Stefan Finnich took the 3rd spot just in front of Patrick Danielsen. Pelle finished 5th, Jack 6th, Gustav Pind 7th and Soren in the 8th. Jeppe again was able to overtake Nicolai Nielsen to take the overall win in the B-main, good drive from Jeppe!

Third Final: I already won the race, but I wanted to test some other springs and rollcenter in front to make a little more reactive car to the strange grip track, so I put 2x 2.7 springs on and made the links 1 time shorter in the front. This was working very well in the track conditions and the car was very easy to drive and fast, I could pull away again – in front of Patrick, and behind him was Soren on pressure by Stefan and Patrick Danielsen. Stefan could’nt find a way past Soren, he kept the door closed. Soren finish 3rd in this final to take the 3rd spot on the podium and Stefan right behind him with only 3,5tenth gap and Patrick Danielsen only 2 tenth behind Finnich, Jack finish 6th in this final, he had some bad luck in all the finals, with drivers took him out in every main, but he was happy how the car worked!

X10’15 Race report by Michael Johnsen:
Now on to the Le Mans Class. Since last race the drivers had tested a lot of bodies, to find the best and most stable body. Peter Harder, Thomas Mortensen and Michael Johnsen (all XRAY X10’15) had the same 1/12 scale look a like body. The bodies were tested by Peter and Michael in the week leading up to the race, which meant that both Peter (9.93) and Michael (9.89) were under 10 seconds lap. Thomas did first test Saturday before the race, but was immediately also improving. Rasmus, David, Bo and Henning were the only drivers in the A-main who were not running the same body as Michael, Peter and Thomas.

Qualification:
From the beginning it was clear that Peter and Michael were fighting for the overall TQ. Peter had just the last speed and won one round with Michael and Thomas in the 2 and 3 spot.

Second qualification: Again Peter Harder started out with a good pace, but a little touch with the track marker made the car took off and Michael took over this round. Thomas drove a safe third place home in his bag.

Third qualification: Last round would decide TQ, as we ran with round by round rules. Again Peter was very unlucky with the track markers, and this time it moved the battery itself, and it was stuck in the suspension, so Peter pulled out of the race. Michael was TQ with Peter in 2 and Thomas in the third spot.

After qualification:
1. Michael Johnsen - XRAY X10’15
2. Peter Harder - XRAY X10’15
3. Thomas Mortensen - XRAY X10’15
4. Rasmus B Nielsen - XRAY X10’15

5. Steven Olsen
6. David Hansen - XRAY X10’15
7. Bo Larsen - XRAY X10’15
8. Henning Warner - XRAY X10’15

First final: Clean start, Michael, Peter and Thomas pulled away from the field. Peter made an early mistake and Michael took a safe 1 place in the first final, with Peter in the second and Thomas in third.

Second final: Again clean start but this time Peter was just behind Michael. Peter tried to go on the inside of Michael and in a collision Michael rolled and Peter must wait for good sportsmanship. Thomas benefited from this, came by and was in the lead until collision with lapped car. Peter and Michael overtook him and so the result was again Michael 1st, Peter 2nd and Thomas in third. So Michael would take the overall victory at the race.

Third final: This final won Thomas in front of Peter and Rasmus. All in all: a really good and close race.

Christoffer J. Madsen drove a good B-main to take the overall victory in the main also with XRAY X10’15!
