Race report by Adrian Jefferies
It was a double victory for Olly Jefferies and his X12 at the weekend as the UK driver won on both days of the BRCA 1:12 scale national and in doing so completed a double of national domestic titles.

On Saturday the field race stock and Olly got off to the best possible start taking TQ ahead of another X12 in the hands of Andy Murray, in the final Olly efficiently converted pole position in to a win, the win was Olly’s fourth in succession and in taking the victory he also wrapped up the national title with two rounds still to go.

Making it a one two for XRAY was Andy Murray who put in one of best national performances to date.

Sunday Modified
The track stays the same for Sunday but the pace is quicker with the top seeded drivers bolting in modified motors, the modified class has seen less entries at each event but this did not take away the competitive edge as drivers battled for TQ. Early on Olly looked to be favourite for another TQ but the final run of qualifying saw a stunning challenge from Adam Walker Catchpole, at the buzzer Olly edged it by a tenth of second to give him a perfect run of TQ’s for the season.

From pole position Olly got away a little slowly which allowed an early challenge from Catchpole Walker, but Olly defended his racing line and Adam dropped down the order, with his nearest challenger struggling behind Spashett and Stiles t Olly was able to switch to cruse mode and take a comfortable win. Andy Murray was also performing well with his X12 on Sunday qualifying third, making it three X12’s in the A final was Markus Askell.

Like the previous day the win sealed the modified championship title for Olly giving him the double in the BRCA 1:12 winter series. It’s unlikely that Olly will contest the next round at Teeside as he has a touring car meeting in February but he will be back for the last round at Chesterfield as this meeting is the week before the 1:12 Euros and will offer some good pre-race practice for Olly and the other British drivers
