The A main consisted of a variety of car manufacturers with XRAY holding 2 positions in the 12 car field. The 45 minute A main was the test of endurance for both car and racer. The track condition after 28 other mains and previous day qualifying and practice left the track very rutted out. At the start, within the first 5 minutes the lead position changed a number of times. Wayne Mah had taken 4th place in the first lap and then worked his way to lead position. A brief stay in 1st was lost to a bobble in the corner entering the straight which set him back to 2nd, giving Taylor Petersen the lead.

With completing the final fuel stop, Wayne managed to close the gap on Taylor to 14 seconds with 3 minutes left. Taylor had been driving clean the whole race, but then was forced out of the lead with a mechanical problem in the final minutes. Wayne now had an open track and capitalized on the win.

Wayne and his Werks/Collari powered XB8 TQ held up to the punishing track and competitive field and is now the Canadian Winternationals 1/8 Nitro Buggy Champion for 2006.
