| For the 6th straight year, the Ottawa Touring Car Championship was hosted by the RC Ottawa club in their spacious indoor facility. It was a smaller turnout than usual, but the competition was as tough as ever. |

| In Friday practice my XRAY was already handling very well and felt very fast. In qualifying on Saturday I was able to take TQ in the 19T class but I struggled in the Modified class, sitting 4th on the grid after three rounds of qualifying, leaving one last chance for a better qualification on Sunday morning. With the TQ in 19T already in my hand, I bounced back from a disappointing effort Saturday by taking the TQ in the Modified class in the last and final round on Sunday morning. |

| Having the pole position in both Modified and 19T classes, I was feeling good about my chances of winning both. But, as they say, racing is racing. In turn 3 of the 19T main I made a mistake and opened the door for Gordie Tam. We touched and I ended up nosed into the boards. After the dust settled a turn marshal was holding my car in the air and it appeared to be game over for me but the switch had gotten turned off; once the marshal turned it back on I was underway again, a whole lap down and in last spot. Being clearly the fastest car on the track, the other drivers graciously moved over to let me pass and I made up almost an entire lap by the end, getting back up into 4th place. |

The Modified main was not nearly as exciting. I made sure to make no mistakes and lapped the entire field by the time the 5min clock expired. All in all it was a very good weekend for XRAY drivers.
