The first heat of the French National Championship was held in Longwy in the north-east of the country close to the Belgium and Luxembourg frontier. Due to cold weather in France at the end of March, this race was run on carpet. The grip was high and the drivers were using their carpet setup they used during the winter, with some differences.

During the winter some good drivers have chosen the XRAY T2'007 for this season; Cyril N'Diaye (2006 French National Champion) and Aurelien Trehout were among those drivers.

This year the qualifiers were a bit different. Like in EFRA, in France we gave up the point system. So the 2 best qualifier heats for each drivers are added to obtain a result for a combined 10minute run.
In OpenB (Sport class), G. Dannel and M. Berty are battling to get the pole position.
G. Dannel has been the fastest and is the only one who got 22 laps.
In the OpenB finals, G. Dannel was still the fastest, and so he won this first national race. He was followed by Vincent Cavard with his XRAY T2'007 (2nd) and Florent Jadot (XRAY T2'007)
In the OpenA finals, Lucas Urbain won the first final and Cyril N'Diaye won the second final, meaning that the last final would determine the winner. Lucas Urbain claimed victory in the last heat… Congratulations!
It was a very good weekend for XRAY with 5 cars in the A-Main and 2 on the podium in both Sport and Master classes. The next race will be on an indoor asphalt track at Rumilly.
