Report by Roel Jongenelis
Last weekend we raced at MRCZ International Open. On Saturday we had four rounds of practice on that moment the grip was getting higher and higher due to a lot of 12th scale cars. My dad and I drove both in our own class my dad with his XRAY X4F-25 in the FWD and I drove with the all new XRAY X4-25 in the TC 13.5T class.
We had for both cars already a good base setup but we knew that we had to improve on some points. In the first two round of qualifiers we had an issue whit grip rolling, but after a small chat we managed to modify the setup by making small changes which resulted in a very fast car for the next qualifiers. On Saturday evening we both drove our best and fastest qualifying and secured the overnight TQ. For Sunday morning there were just one round of qualifying left, we both agreed that we still had to find something in the setup of our cars, by watching the 12th scale cars we saw that the grip was rising and we decided to make a small change. This worked out very well and we both got another TQ run.
The finals: FWD In the first final my dad had a really good start and was able to pull a gap from the other drivers pretty quickly. But my dad should not be so stubborn because in the finals he was still searching for other lines to be even quicker due that he made some drivers mistakes but he was able to recover them. By that he was driving faster and faster also in the finals and by that he secured the win in final 1, 2 and 3 so also the overall win.

TC Final 1 my start was pretty good Thomas Stockman was able to follow me close, on a certain moment I had a small mistake surfing over a curb due that we had a small contact but we carried on. One lap later my car blocked on the track. After a quick check of my dad I could drive again in the final minutes of that final. A body tuck pin came lose out of my body came between the center pulleys and belt that’s what cause my car to completely lock out on track. A final to forget I got last in this one. Final 2 this time a really good start and a nice battle between me and Thomas he was following again very close. For three minutes long he was pushing behind my bumper but on a certain point he over pushed and made a small mistake by that I was able to win this final. Final 3 this final was the important one because we were on a match point so the winner of this final will take the overall win. Both we had a great start on one moment I was able to pull a gap from Thomas, so I could drive my own race driving fast lap times. A moment later I saw that Thomas was stopped in the pits, unfortunately he had to retire because a wheel came loose. I am not just somebody who goes cruising from that point I always go for the best and even in the last final I was able to set some really fast times.

So overall I and my dad secured the overall win in our classes and we are really happy with that.
