WinterChamps 2025 Race took place in Hohenems, Austria last weekend.
Saturday morning the track was opened and everyone made the first meters on the freshly laid track for the weekend.
Patrick Hofer drove the fastest 3 laps in both Modified classes and had the Top seed with his new Xray models XB2`25 / XB4`25.
Patrick was also able to hold his own in the first two qualifying sessions with both of his cars and secured the TQ's which also determine the starting positions for the Dash for Cash.
Dash for Cash:
In the 2WD class Patrick took the lead from the start ahead of Nico Schmid and Noah Kaufmann and won the race.
In the 4WD class the excitement was still very high in the late hours. The Xray trio of Patrick, Florian and Nico gave the crowd a great show in the 6 minute final. After 6 minutes of fair and hard fighting Patrick was able to take the first 2 prizes ahead of his colleagues Florian and Nico Schmid.
Patrick was able to defend both finals and took home all the prize money and made a Perfect Saturday.
Sunday:
In the early hours of the morning the last qualifications started again, Patrick was able to close the bag in the 2WD class in the 3rd run and took the TQ for the A-final in the afternoon.
In the 4WD class Florian's speed was very strong and he was able to hold his own against Patrick and took the TQ ahead of Patrick and his brother Nico.
2WD finals:
In the first A final Patrick took the first step towards the overall win with a start-finish victory.
After a mistake by Patrick and Florian, Nico won the second run ahead of Patrick and Florian. Now it was all about the victory between the Xray boys.
3 Final Patrick could not hold the line after a slight crank and Florian was able to take the lead and also hold his own, Patrick fought back to 2nd place and was able to take the overall win in the 2WD Modified category ahead of Florian and Nico Schmid. Philip Jeisy finished 6th and Dieter Schmid 14th.
In the 4WD class:
The Xray drivers were a speed for themselves, Florian, Patrick and Nico fought each in all 3 classes for every millimeter on the track to keep positions and or get ahead. Each final was a class of its own for all 3 drivers. Florian took the win with 2 Super Finals ahead of Patrick Hofer and Nico Schmid. Philip Jessy finished 5th and Dieter Schmid 10th.
The season opener could not have started better for Team Xray with a dominating performance in all classes.
