On Sunday, April 27, the first round of the Simply Fun Racing Hudy Series took place at the technical track of ERCE Eindhoven. With sunny weather and a grid full of competitive drivers, the event delivered exciting racing across all classes. Both the Touring 17.5 and FWD categories saw fierce battles and top-level driving from start to finish.
FWD
Qualifying
Nicolas Delisé set the pace early and secured TQ with his Xray X4F’25. Behind him, it was a close fight between Robert Van der Wolf and Patrick Jongenelis, with Robert narrowly claiming P2 ahead of Patrick.
Finals
• A1: Patrick passed Robert after just two laps and never looked back. Nicolas remained focused and drove a clean race to take the win, followed by Patrick and André.
• A2: Once again, Patrick overtook Robert in the opening corners, but Nicolas had a rough start. While battling with Patrick, Nicolas left the door open and Robert seized the opportunity to take the lead. Despite heavy pressure, Robert defended brilliantly and held on for the win.
• A3: Nicolas had a much better start and led from tone to tone. Patrick again made a move on Robert early and secured second place.

Touring 17.5
Qualifying
The Touring 17.5 class saw a super close fight for TQ between Bart Wubben and Roel Jongenelis. Bart edged it by just a few tenths, with Steven Koiter lining up third. Xray locked out the top three in qualifying.
Finals
• A1: Bart Wubben held off a charging Steven Koiter, who posted some of the fastest laps of the day and closed in during the final two laps. Robert Krens completed the top three.
• A2: A poor start dropped Bart to fourth early on, giving Roel and Steven the chance to battle for the win. Roel came out on top by just 0.2 seconds. Meanwhile, Yuri Braham stormed through the field from P9 to take third.
• A3: With three drivers still in contention for the overall win, the final leg was full of tension. Bart managed to keep the lead and controlled the gap to Roel throughout the race. Steven suffered a DNF after his wing came loose, allowing Richard Oversloot to take third.
