Tuesday evening it was the R5 of the Oslo Open series. A perfect warm summer evening for racing with over 30 drivers on the start grid. This is Norways and probably Scandinavias biggest series with almost 60 unike drivers attending during the 6 races long series.
Martin Skars XB4 early showed grate pace and was clearly the fastest car on the grid. The qualifying round one started perfect with over 10 seconds lead just 20 meters from the finish line. Then an incident with another car broke the car. Still Martin got a 3rd place i Q1 because he was one lap faster than all but two drivers. In Q2 he also got a big lead, but the battery had an error and got empty after 10 laps. In Q3 Martin did some mistakes, was 3rd, and then got a 4th spot in the A main.
In the A main Martin drove very fast and consistent and worked himself rapidly up to challenge the lead. After about 3 laps he overtook Victor Asak and drove away in front while Victor Asak, Halvor Gran and Mats T Skønberg fought for the rest of the podium.
Martin says: Great to finally be back at the top of the podium. The XB4 was amazing and a big advantage for me in this race.
Congrats to Halvor and Victor for 2nd and 3rd place.
Overall in the series Daneil Kobbevik leads ahead of Martin Skar and Halvor Gran.
