The race was held on the small but beautiful track in Marktoberdorf in south Germany. The weather was nice and warm, around 30 degree the whole weekend. What a contrast to the recent races in middle Europe which were often affected by some or a lot of rain.
Formula 1: this was dominated by Team Xray, with David Ehrbar winning all Qualifyings and Finals, accompanied on the podium by Robert Kampehl and Chris Grenz, all with the Xray X1’25.
David Ehrbar was also winning the 40+ Category, while Chris Grenz won the Veteran (55+) Category.
FWD:
This one was less clear. Alexander Stocker started from TQ spot, but in the first final his spur gear broke at the start. But Alex was able to recover with winning A2 and A3 both with a margin, securing him the German Nationals Title, and also the victory in the 40+ Category. Manfred Schramm claimed the Veteran 55+ Title with his heavily modified X4F car.
Stock 13.5T:
This one was fought out hard.
Jan Ratheisky was on pole position, and decided for a typical strategy to use the new set of tires in the first final. This earned him a clear victory.
In A2 he has to fight hard with the cars from behind pushing hard to overtake on their new tires. Some contact was made between 3 cars, Jan spun, and in his typical manner of “Ratheisky-style” car control, he managed to get out in front again. Shortly after, he lost the lead by a great pass from Lukas Ellerbrock, but was able to defend the second spot, which proofed to be important.
In A3, Jan could not keep the cars on fresher tires behind long enough, but as he already had a 1st and 2nd place, and his run on new tires was the fastest of the day, he claimed the overall victory!
Marlon Ratheisky won the Junior Category with Emely Ratheisky finishing 2nd.
