Report by Oliver Heise
What a weekend!
On Friday, the first laps could be completed, but consistent practice was hardly possible due to the rain. This meant everything had to come together on Saturday. From run to run, performance improved, and lap times became increasingly consistent. In the qualifying rounds Q1 to Q4, the pole position (TQ) was finally secured.
In the first final, however, the wrong tire choice made the car difficult to control. A driving mistake and a technical issue added to the challenge. For finals 2 and 3, the strategy was therefore adjusted: drive safely and without errors, paying particular attention to factors such as battery temperature. This approach paid off – both finals were won, securing the overall victory and the German Championship title in EG8GT.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who provided personal support during this weekend – without you, this success would not have been possible!
Special thanks to Jan Ratheisky for the outstanding support (the equipment worked brilliantly).
Also to Stefan Schulz, who once again proved that sometimes unconventional ideas can make all the difference.
Another big thank-you to the entire RC Speedracer e.V. Team, which once again delivered fantastic work.
Finally, congratulations to Mirko Morgenstern on the German Championship title in EG8GT3 – an outstanding achievement! With this, two titles are heading back to Berlin.
