Last weekend Team XRAY attended the 8th qualification round at the ASMC Augsburg track. We arrived on Friday but unfortunately it was rainy and cloudy outside so that we were not able to practice a lot that day. Therefore we focused on the set up of the engine and the clutch. Saturday morning, the rest of the team arrived including Andreas Myrberg, Dirk Wischnewski and Bertram Kessler from SMI. Until noontime we had time for practicing and in the end we were very satisfied with our cars.

In the afternoon the qualifications started with Dirk Wischnewski getting TQ in the first round. At the end of the qualifications on Sunday morning we had 3 XRAY cars in front and 3 more made the final by doing a good job in the semi-finals.
The finals started with big trouble in the first round. An engine cutout from Mirco Thalheimer (4th position) caused a lot of chaos in the beginning. During the first two rounds there were many crashes between the drivers and unfortunately I went into my teammate Andreas Myrberg and both of us fell behind. But after 8 minutes I was able to take over the lead and pulled away from the rest of the field. At the same time Andreas had problems with his engine and Dirk had problems with his tires. XRAY drivers Sebastian Feller and Alfred Kieslinger had clean runs until that point so that they got 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.

Three minutes before the end, I was in the lead with one lap and I decided to make a last safety pitstop. I won the final by 4 seconds in the lead, followed by Sebastian Feller and Alfred Kieslinger. After a not-so-successful season, it was the first race for Alfred with the NT1 and the first podium place. So he was very satisfied with the car and the race â“ Good job Alfred! So with three XRAY cars in the front, we had a perfect weekend again. Thanks to Bertram Kessler from SMI and Michael Heinrich (MH-Motortuning) and my pit-man Johann.
