The Big Barn Shootout is Canada’s largest indoor off road race held annually in Chilliwack, BC. This year the event was scheduled over the Easter Weekend, April 3rd - 5th. and as usual would attract a large amount of entries.
Aaron Deagnon would get the “Hat Trick” in Spec tire E Buggy. Narrowly missing TQ he would be gridded in second position for a stacked 16 car A final. Not having the run he hoped for in the first A final and having to settle for third, things would be completely different in A2 and A3. With flawless driving and winning the last two finals with his XRAY XB8E, Aaron would secure victory and capture his third consecutive Big Barn Shootout championship.
As a fifth scale driver, Alex McDonald would have no fears of attending this event for his first off road race appearance. Alex would capture overall TQ in Sportsman E Buggy with his XRAY XB8E. Even though he was put to the test with some electronics issues, he would still secure second on the podium. For his first race appearance, Alex would make the A Final in E Truggy with his XRAY XT8E. Being faced with a loaded 16 car A Final, Alex would complete and secure 16th overall in an extremely competitive final.
Eric Polanik entered his XRAY XB8E’s in both Spec Tire and Expert classes. Starting in 7th spot in the Spec Tire A Final, Eric would work his way through all finals to finish 5th overall. In another 16 car A Final in Expert E Buggy, Alex would qualify 12th and finish 14th overall. In this class Aaron Deagnon would finish 6th overall.
