The 2026 1/8 Buggy Czech Nationals took place last weekend at RC Divoke Jeleni.
The event saw overall 74 cars on the starting grid, which was a great number for the local racing scene.
Event started with free practice on Friday, so the drivers could get familiar with the track layout and conditions. Followed by two reseeding rounds on Saturday morning, to get better groups heading into qualifying.
There were 4 qualifying rounds on Saturday, from which I was able to come out on top in both classes, taking overall TQ in Nitro as well as Ebuggy. Followed by Bartek Zalewski in 2nd and Daniel Hofman in 3rd.
Sunday brought much colder conditions and track conditions change, as we headed into the finals. As we could expect from the close qualifying, it was an intense fight between me and Bartek all day long. We had some great close fights in the Ebuggy finals, but he managed to pull in the front after clean pass and take the overall win, with me finishing second and Daniel 3rd.
In Nitro, Bartek had an early crash from the pole positions, which he claimed by a faster Semi final time. I led the first part of the final, until we got close together again and he managed to overtake. We cruised to the end in this order, him taking the win and me finishing in 2nd place, in front of 3rd Ales Bidovsky.
Overall it was a great weekend for all participants as well as us, the race organizers. Great atmosphere through the whole weekend, perfect weather and great fights on the track. Big thank you to all foreign and local drivers for joining us for another successful running of the Nationals here.
