The qualifying race for the north of Germany took place last weekend at the MACH track at Hamburg.

I arrived Saturday morning to good weather so I had good motivation for a good race. For me this was the last race before the Euros in Madrid and I wanted to test some of the latest new parts and also get the best possible result of course. I already knew that my NT1 would perform well; normally I don't have to touch the car because it works 95% right from the start. But this race would be different: the track was strange and the traction was not that good at the beginning but it become better. But the traction was never really high, so I tried many different setups because it was really difficult to get the right balance of the car. Normally I need more front traction but this time I needed rear traction because it was too loose. I test the new XRAY Foam tires and they preformed really well with good wear and balance. I used them for one qualifying round and set the fastest lap of the race with them and was 1sec from TQ.

I started 3rd on the grid (1 sec behind TQ) and I knew my car would become better and better with the increasing traction. And increase it did for the main final.
I had a really bad start, got hit by a lot cars, and was almost 1 lap down when I come back onto the track again. BUT. the car was working well now so I hoped for the best. The car was easy to drive and fast. I changed to the standard 3mm chassis before the final and this helped; this chassis gives more rear and front traction compare to the 4mm chassis when traction is low.
After 10min I was leading. The front runners had an engine cut out and that was enough to give me the lead again and I held that position until the end, finishing 2 laps ahead of 2nd place.
