The 2008/2009 German National Indoor season was recently kicked off.
The hosting club, SLR Ingolstadt, welcomed the drivers on Saturday morning with a perfectly prepared track using the same layout as the previous year’s 1/12 scale Euros.
100 drivers attend the race in the different classes.
After 1.5 years away from electric racing, I started in the Stock class in a field of 50 competitors. The field was really strong with the top two finishers of the recently held ETS race as well as many drivers that finished in the finals of the German Outdoor Nationals.

My XRAY T2´008 worked really well right from the beginning. I only changed the toe-in to get the rear more stable and later I changed the shock oil when the grip improved on the technical track layout.
After two rounds of practice there were 3 rounds of qualification and I finished 3rd, with some driving mistakes keeping me from a better result, but I was very confident for the next day.

In the first round of the final day I improved on my earlier runs as nearly all drivers in the top ten improved their times in the last two rounds.
The guys in modified class did also a great job, making sure that XRAY had the most cars in the finals and the following ranking:
Everybody was really excited for the first finals of the new season. The first final was a chaotic race with a lot of driving mistakes and crashes. Daniel had some technical problems so he finished second in the first final. My car worked perfect and I turned some fast lap times but made too many mistakes to record a good result. The same happened to me in the second final. But Daniel had a clean race and won the second final from TQ. So we had to wait until the third final to determine the winner. Daniel and Alex had a clean start and in the seven minutes there were several lead changes. In the end, Daniel finished first and was the overall winner. Congratulations to Daniel!
