Race report by Dirk Wischnewski
This year’s German Championship take place at the well known Ettlingen track in the south part of the country.

The race was overshadowed by the tragic dead of Hermann Dankel (father of my good friend Eric) on Saturday. R.I.P. Hermann.

Because of this qualifying was canceled after only one round. Unfortunately I pushed too hard and made a mistake in this run and so I had to start in the 1/32 Finale on Sunday morning. I was able to bump up five times to start 2nd on the grid of the main finale.

The start of the main finale was quite good. Immediately after the start Eric opened a gap
to the rest of the field, I had a good fight with Dominic Greiner for seconded place during the first part of the race. At the 20min mark, both Eric and Dominic had problems with their tire change. My tire change went quite good (thanks to my pit crew Marco and Robert) and so I was able to take the lead in front of Eric. In the seconded part of the 40min race Eric pushed very hard but was not able to close the gap completely, so I won the race in front of Eric and Thilo.

All in all a very emotional and special win for me because so many crazy things happened during the weekend.
