The 2nd round of the 2014 South-African ORE national championship was held at the Welkom RC Track. A cold front hit South Africa and the tire warmers got turned up but the great indoor track managed to keep the drivers happy and the programme on schedule.
The Touring Modified class once again provided some spectacular high-speed racing. The local hero Antonio Caroli took TQ honours but due to some unlucky incidents in the finals he would only end in 6th place overall. At the end it was Hein Kotze who dominated with faultless driving in all 3 finals. Anderton Smith and Deon Gove managed to grab the final two podium spots

The very fast 13.5T Touring class provided some great racing. Hein Kotze took the TQ and the win in the A Mains with Deon Gove in 2nd and Anderton Smith 3rd while Michael Gibson ended on a good 4th place overall after taking a sabbatical year from racing.
In 21.5T Blinky Touring blinky Neville Menezes continued his good form from the previous nationals and managed to get TQ and after some great racing it was Eugene Wessels who grabbed the title with two wins.
