The third round of Lestr Cup series 2015/16 took place last weekend in Dubec. The race was very important for us, as it was our first event with XRAY cars - XB2 & XB4 2016.
In practice everyone was struggling with super low traction. Only my new team mate - Max Gotzl was looking good already in the morning and set some fast laps.
For 2wd qualifications we made some changes on my XB2 (more flex, softer composite parts, …) which appeared as a right move and my XB2 got better and better every round and took overall TQ. Max took 3rd place after qualifications with some bad luck in Q3.
In 4wd qualifications my XB4 2016 was fast since the beginning, however few small changes (thicker oils and bigger wing) made the car much more easier to drive and my XB4 2016 took TQ in all three qualifications with Max taking his XB4 2016 2nd to A-main.
In 2wd finals my XB2 was amazing and took win in all three A-mains. Max was every final fighting for the 2nd place with Jiri Mara, but overall remained 3rd.
In 4wd finals my XB4 2016 won all three A-mains with more than a half lap in front 2nd. Max and his XB4 2016 managed pretty easily to defend 2nd place overall, which made XB4 2016 1-2 in 4wd.
Overall it was a great first race new XRAY cars. Both XB2 & XB4 2016 behaved awesome on very low grip carpet and also set the fastest laps in both classes! Congratulations to Max for taking 2nd place in 4wd and 3rd place in 2wd buggy!
