The 4th round of XRAY Winter Series took place last weekend in Kolin. As on previous races there was one track for both on-road & off-road (with removable jumps). However there was one new rule − Sweep slick tires in 1/10 off-road.
In practice both my XB2 & XB4’16 behaved great and so we didn’t do anything on the cars (except thicker oil in the diff in XB2).
As we have had just one 5 minutes run for a practice with each car I had to learn how to treat the slicks during the qualifications. It was little bit tricky as the touring cars raced on the same track and the grip of the track was higher for each heat. Despite of this, both cars felt great to drive and I managed to take overall TQ in both classes!
In on-road stock class it was Vitezslav Hola, who took easily overall TQ and in on-road modified it was Jiri Vysin with overall TQ making it 4x TQ for XRAY.
In finals my XB2 powered by Orion continued its domination and won 1st & 2nd final and took the overall win! Martin Korinek and Milan Mudra managed to finish 2nd & 3rd making it TOP 3 for XRAY. In 4wd class I messed up in 2nd final as I tried something with tires preparation, but this idea didn’t work at all. However in the 1st & 3rd final my Orion powered XB4’16 managed to take the win with almost a lap gap in front of second driver. Milan Mudra and Jiri Vysin finished overall 2nd & 3rd, which meant another TOP 3 for XRAY.
In stock class it was Vitezslav Hola who took the overall win with his T4’16! In modified class Jiri Vysin & his T4’16 managed to take the win in front of hard charging Dominik Sulc!
Overall it was a good race, thanks a lot to the organisers! XRAY team managed to take full podium in both 2wd & 4wd buggy classes and took the win in both on-road classes! In the end I want to say big thanks to my parents and all my sponsors for their support!
