July 28-31 saw the 4th running of a leg of the Asian onroad championship in Australia, with the ACT model car racing club hosting the event in conjunction with Scotty Ernst promotions.

With a spacious hall at exhibition park in Canberra the venue a large high speed track was laid out on the "ETS" with a couple of technical sections to keep things interesting , providing passing opportunities and close hard racing in all classes.

For myself it was a chance to race 1/12 stock and modified against a highly competitive and talented field on a high grip track for the first time, my rides of choice being XRAY X12's with Protoform Tr-12 bodies, Muchmore speedies, Nosram motors and Matrix tires. After getting accustomed to the surface in practice and getting the cars consistent I was able to qualify 7th in stock and 4th in mod. With triple A-mains I was confident for the finals as the cars were easy to drive in for the 8 minute races, and as such I was able to improve positions in both classes finishing 4th in stock and 2nd in mod, far exceeding my goals and expectations for the weekend.

Overall Team XRAY put on an impressive showing with a high percentage of entrants using the brand, along with Team XRAY Australia in attendance to offer help and advice to all XRAY drivers, resulting in a good number of A-final positions being XRAY cars in all classes.

Overall the AOC 2016 was a terrific event that ran super smooth from start to finish, having an amazing atmosphere of competitive spirit and friendship. I would like to thank Scotty Ernst and Thomas Tran along with ACT model Car racing club for the great event, and Ari Bakla and the whole XRAY Aus team for all the product support, helping me to achieve my RC goals.
