Race report by Alexander Hagberg
The popular AOC series came to Hong Kong once again on the weekend of 22-23rd of October. Drivers came to race at the nice PYC circuit, competing in 4 different classes. The XRAY team was in attendance by myself, Jan Ratheisky from Germany, Dominic Quek from Singapore, Yan Cheung from Hong Kong, among others!

The race was unfortunately shortened by the bad weather conditions that struck Hong Kong in these few days. As a big typhoon came and brought lots of rain and wind with it, no practice was possible on the Friday. However, we got almost a full day of practice on Thursday, and thanks to the fairly low entry count, the organizer managed to put in 4 full rounds of qualifying on the Saturday afternoon/evening. Following that, myself and Jan, in cooperation with World Model, arranged an XRAY Workshop at the PYC track. Even though being quite late, many drivers joined, and interacted with many technical questions. It was a great workshop, thanks to Felix Law for being the host/translator, thanks to Anthony and Simon for the support as well!

I did not change much from my basic asphalt setup, and I was soon up to speed. I was playing around with centre motor mount and the flex possibilities it has. In the end I opted for the turnbuckle centre stiffener, as well as a short flex position in the motor mount (only the furthest front screw used). This gave me a very fast and reactive car that worked well in the changing track conditions. I ended up using a 15.000 diff oil in rear, to maximize forward traction, in this hot and demanding weather. Other than that, I did not change much to my setup. I was able to TQ 4 out of 5 qualifiers to award myself the all-important TQ spot for the finals. I took it from there, to lead A1 from start to finish.

The rain came back on the Sunday afternoon, with a quick but heavy shower, that unfortunately gave the organizer no other option but to base the overall result to that of A1. Luckily I was able to take the win in that final. I was happy to take the overall win in this event, even after racing just one final. I knew that my package and my performance was spot on, and I can’t complain about anything really!

A big big congratulations to my fellow team mate, the young Singaporean Dominic Quek who took the 3rd podium spot in style! Dominic was fighting for the runner up spot throughout the final, and showed an impressive level of driving the entire weekend!

I want to send out a big thanks to World Model for their hospitality, thanks to all XRAY drivers that attended our Workshop on the Saturday, thanks to Team ORCA, as well as my teammates Jan, Dominic and others! It was a fun weekend at the AOC as always, I can’t wait for the next one!

Jan Ratheisky:
Last weekend I was able to attend at the AOC in Hong Kong. While we struggle with 2 incoming typhoons on level 8. We could make a little walk around to see the city and buy some stuff ;) Thanks, Somon and Anthony from World Model and the crew of Orca for this. But let’s jump to the more important stuff... the race! ;)

Well badly we lost 2-3 practice days because of the very heavy rain and we had just one day of practice. It was very hard for me to find a great setup for all three classes I ran. The traction was changing very much. Same way like the air conditions. This meant 0.7 time difference each practice run. So I decided to stay with my setup and just focus on driving. Like I mostly do ;)

Quallis: Well, it worked really great for me, so I was able to TQ 13.5 blinky GT and also 13.5 boosted.

Finals: Luckily and badly in once I won the first Final of both Stock classes. But with the incoming rain we had to stop the race with counting just the first final.
