. I TQed round 1 by 3 seconds! Qual #2= Disaster! HAHA, I wasn’t able to drive around anyone in round 2 and got a 6 for the round. Qual #3= Disaster! They finally did a resort and I was in the A heat. In the beginning I had a couple of bobbles and then the whole pack got together and since everyone was the same speed, no one could ever get by themselves and the guys in the B heat ended up doing really well and the A heat didn’t do so well. THE A-MAIN: I started 4th in the main event and had the worst start out of everyone and dropped to last in the first minute. It was 100% my fault and all I could think about was to drive my butt off and try to catch the pack! I ended up getting up to the 5th or 6th spot and got together with another driver and fell back once again… After that I started to push my car super hard but still play safe around other drivers so I wouldn’t get collected with them and drop farther back. Before I knew It I got up to the 4th spot and I had a great battle for a few laps trying to get up into the 3rd spot. The 3rd place driver made a mistake and I drove right by. At this point the race was almost over and I was too far behind 2nd to worry about an even better position and 4th was far enough back that I didn’t have to worry about dropping back. On the last lap, second had a bad mistake and I passed him in the last turn, didn’t know it until the race director said so after I walked off the stand! I was so stoked and I couldn’t believe how well I fought back at the end!
Qual 1 and 2: I drove safe around other drivers and pushed my car when I was alone on the track. I ended up TQing the first 2 out of 3 rounds. The A-Main turned out to be much worse than I wanted it to be! The 4wd main was race 35, and that meant the track had formed lots of bumps that weren’t there in qualifying and I couldn’t even feel them with my 2wd buggy and truck because the 2wd was too light to go down into them and the stadium truck has big enough tires to just float over the bumps. Anyways, the 4wd was super twitchy in the main and it was hard to drive fast and still have control of it. In the beginning of the race I dropped back a little bit and it was super hard to keep up let alone catch the leaders. I had a good fight for the 3rd spot for most of the race and eventually I was able to get into the 3rd spot and leave 4th place, but I was too far back from 1st and 2nd place to catch up, so I ended in the 3rd spot. Overall I’m not mad about the finish considering the bad start.
I was able to TQ round 1 and 3 to get the overall TQ! The Main went 100% my way! I was able to check out right from the start and I ended up lapping the field!
