Race report by Alexander Hagberg
The organizer had done a great job, building a whole new track with ETS carpet, CRC track markers, and an extended track size. It was a great track not only visually, but also to drive on! 100 or so entries joined the event in Modified and Stock categories.

In the Modified class, a rule change saw the use of 6.5T motors and blinky ESC settings as the new thing to get accustomed to. A little slower straightaway speeds for the cars made the cornering speed even more critical for a quick laptime! I had prepared for this race throughout the winter at different international and BRCA events, testing different motor and car set-ups, to gain as my knowledge as possible.

After practice I could establish a strong pace, which I held on to the qualifiers. Making some minor adjustments ot my car setup, I also did find the aluminium chassis and rear pod to work exceptionally well once again. My car was fast yet easy to drive, and this made it possible for me to TQ all the 5 rounds of qualifying on Saturday.

On Sunday I started the finals from the TQ position. I was able to gap the field early on, and hold a comfortable lead until the end of both A1 and A2, this rewarded me with my 4th consecutive European Championship title in this class! Hupo went on to take 2nd overall after a strong run in all 3 mains, particularly in A3 where he managed to take a convincing win after I had decided to sit that one out!

In the 13.5T blinky stock class, the defending champion, XRAY driver Hupo Hönigl was quickly up to speed, and managed to secure TQ with 4 out of 5 round wins! His X12'17, also fitted with an aluminium chassis, looked really hooked up around the Limburg track.

Hupo went on to take 2 A-final wins, (A2 and 3) after extremely close battles with the 2nd place qualifier, the local 1/12 veteran Markus Mobers. Even after giving up the lead in A3, Hupo fought back and pulled an impressive overtaking maneuver, to re-take the lead, which he held to the finish line. Hupo won his 3rd consecutive title in the 13.5T blinky category, and his 2nd in a row with an XRAY X12 car!

It's a great feeling to repeat this success again with our X12 platform. I have personally been closely involved with the development of this car over the years, and thanks to the great effort of Martin Hudy, Olly, EA and the rest of the team, we have developed a very competitive car which is just a pleasure to drive! This double win, and 1-2 finish in Modified definitely proves its performance
