Round 1 of XRS Slovenia 2017/18 took place on the Genius ring track with the new lay out this yearâ¦faster and also nicer.
Drivers from 6 different countries decided to participate at the event with also some big names present, like Jan Raitheisky, Andrea Ghilotti, B.A. Arnaldi and many others.
Already on Saturday the most of registered drivers were present and in the evening the XRAY Work.Shop with Jan Ratheisky took place.
On Sunday there were 2 controlled practice runs and then we went to the qualifying.
TQ in Touring Stock 13.5 XRS handout category went to Jan Ratheisky (XRAY T4), second was Andrea Ghilotti (XRAY T4) and third went to B.A. Arnaldi (XRAY T4).
In F1 21.5 XRS handout category the TQ went again to Jan Ratheisky (XRAY T4), second was Matej Dobnikar (XRAY X1) and third Daniele Conte.
In 1/12 Pan car TQ went to Valentin Mis, second was Simone Bellin and third Lorenzo Milanese.
After lunch break there were 3 final runs.
In Touring Stock there was a fierce battle between Jan, Andrea and B.A. In the first run Jan had a contact with a back marker while leading the final as also Andrea, so both lost many places. This meant that B.A. had the open door to win. In second final there was a contact between Jan and Andrea which gave B.A. again the lead. Then Jan and B.A. touched again so Andrea could win this final. In the last final Jan lead from start to finish with Andrea in second and B.A. forced to retire before the start. With a faster time B.A. won with the same points as Andrea and Jan took 3rd place on the podium.
