The 2nd round of the 2017-2018 electric Hungarian Championship was continued at the Hungexpo exhibiton center in Budapest, as part of 2 day gaming show, called PlayIT. This 2 day event attracted many spectators and more than 100 drivers in many different classes. On Saturday only on-road classes were held and Sundays remained for the off-road actions. Our mission is also to build the next generation of racers, so we had classes only for youth with handout ESC’s, motors and tires, and we also have category for only 40+ aged racers.
On Saturday I only run Formula-1 which was just enough to race after almost a full week of preparation with the track. We had no practise on Friday, so it was equal for everybody. The track was smaller as usual, but still had a nice layout.

Stock class results:
1. Cristian Faur - XRAY T4
2. Peter Loncsar
3. Simon Ciudan
In a competitive Stock field it was Cristian Faur who finally won a very close race with his T2 2018, equipped with handout Orion motors and blinky speedos. Every final was won by different racers so it was nice victory for Cristian after missing this class nowadays.

4WD results:
1. Zsolt Bausz Junior − XRAY XB4
2. Zsolt Bajusz − XRAY XB4
3. Robert Fekete
In 4WD Buggy Zsolt Bajusz Junior and Senior Zsolt Bajusz were their own field all day long with their XB4 cars − just like at the first round of the championship. Zsolt Junior TQ the event but it was Robert Fekete who has won the first final. The second and third final went to Zsolt Junior and Zsolt Senior. The race was won by Zsolt Bajusz Junior, second place went to his father Zsolt Bajusz Senior and third to Robert fekete.
2WD Buggy was my category this time and I really enjoyed it. I’m not an off-road guy but I really love this category and the car (XRAZY XB2). I had a close battle with the Bajusz family during the qualifying heats and only managed to TQ the race with less then 1 second. During the finals I wasn’t the fastest driver but the more consistent one without any big mistakes so I was able to win the race. It was a clean sweep for XRAY, as only XB2’s were on the podium. Second place went to Zsolt Bajusz Junior who was fast but had back luck ahead of Karoly Izsay.
Second day we had less categories, so we had time to practise before the heats and finals.
This day buggy junior was the class for the youngsters. Gergo Valent was the fastest driver and after he TQ’d the qualifying rounds he also won the race. Gergo started racing only a year ago with virtual racing. Second place went to Balázs Rácz (XRAY XB4) and third to Armin Rajki (XRAY XB4).
The category for only Youth is very popular with many handout parts (ESC, motor and tires) and is very nice to see how these young racers are improving race after race. This round it was Cristian Faur’s son who had won the race with his XRAY T4 car ahead of Zsombot Kaltenecker and Armin Rajki.
In Formula-1 I had a hard day, where I qualified 2nd and had a lot of trouble with other racer in the finals where I finally finished 2nd. The track was a little bit tight and there was no room for mistakes which happened quite a few times with many drivers. The race was won by Peter Loncsar ahead of Balint Rajki and Cristian Faur.
