Team XRAY was represented by the local Shanghai Team lead by China-based Japanese Driver Masaki Kiyoi and young Nicholas Koh.We also saw a new face in town, 9 years-old Tino Wu showed his skills and why he may be the next future star of China’s RC racing. But this was Masaki Kiyoi’s day and he showed why he is currently the best driver in town!

Masaki Kiyoi with his XRAY T4 was dominant all weekend, setting fastest lap times and showing great stability and speed. Masaki would TQ qualifying while Nicholas Koh qualified in 3rd position on the grid. In the first A-Main final, Masaki pulled away at start of race and never was challenged as his T4 showed incredible consistency in performance through out the 5 minutes. Nicholas Koh had a bit of trouble at start and only manage to finish 4th in the first final.

In the second final, Masaki again had a clear track ahead and drove with tremendous speed and skills to take the win and the overall win of the race event. Nicholas did not finish well in the second final and needed to do well in the final round to make podium.

With two rounds already won, Masaki decided to sit out the third round while Nicholas had to fight hard to make podium. At the end, Nicholas would finish 2nd in the final round and take 3rd overall in the event.

After the race, Masaki was very pleased with win and had this to say, ‶I am very happy to win this race and my XRAY T4 was very fast and very easy to drive all weekend. I am also happy to sit with all the XRAY driver during the race and share settings and strategies.※

It was great to see two XRAY drivers on the podium at the NY Cup.

Congratulations to Masaki Kiyoi for taking the win and taking Team XRAY on top of the podium!!!
