Race report by Alexander Hagberg
The 2018 European Championships in the 1/12 classes saw a record breaking turnout of 147 entries, split in modified and stock classes. The race was held at the permanent race facility of Racing Arena Limburg!

In the modified class, myself and Olly Jefferies set the pace already in practice, as we had our X12 cars handling pretty well right away. We went on to bring this pace into the qualifiers as well, as I would win 3, and Olly 2 of the 5 qualifiers. I was awarded the TQ position, having the tie break with the faster time from my Q2 run! A fantastic performance from the Swedish driver Markus Hellquist, saw him line up 5th on the grid for the finals - a result that he converted into a final 5th position as well after some great driving on the Sunday! Hupo Hönigl lined up 8th on the grid for XRAY after struggling slightly with his setup in the qualifiers.

A1 didn't go exactly to plan, as a screw fell out of my rear pod a few minutes in, causing my car to become undrivable, and I had to settle for a DNF in A1. With all screws fully tighetened down, the pressure was on for me to recover in the remaining two finals. I managed to win A2 and 3 from tone to tone with a very well handling car. The car handled well even when the grip levels decreased in the afternoon, and this definitely made my job easier in the finals. This meant that I won my 5th consecutive EFRA European title. I am extremely proud of this achivement! I couldn't be more thankful to XRAY for keeping on top with development of the increasingly popular X12 platform - I am happy to be a part of this project and it's success!

In the stock class, Hupo Hönigl made the final for XRAY, starting from the 9th spot, he eventually moved up to 7th in the finals with a much improved car, but the improvements would come a bit late, not giving him the result that he and the car deserved!
